Flags to Half-Staff for National Peace Officers Memorial Day
Governor: We will also honor NH Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial Ceremony on May 20.

CONCORD, NH - Gov. Maggie Hassan, D-Exeter, is directing flags on all public buildings and grounds to half-staff for Peace Officers Memorial Day on Sunday, May 15, 2016.
Hassan has also directed flags to half-staff for the New Hampshire Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial Ceremony on Friday, May 20, 2016, according to a press statement.
“New Hampshire had a vivid reminder of the risks the members of law enforcement take every day," she noted. "We are grateful that Manchester’s two officers will recover, and we are reminded that whenever one of our law enforcement officials makes the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, it cuts through the very fabric of our society.”

Hassan added that law enforcement officials "put their lives on the line every day to protect their fellow citizens, and in doing so, risk being taken too soon." National Peace Officers Memorial Day was a time to mark these solemn occasions and to honor the bravery and service of all of our fallen heroes," she stated.
"Though there is nothing that we can do to ease the pain of their loss, we will continue to come together and do everything that we can to support their families, loved ones and fellow officers," Hassan said.
