Forecasters Issue Cold Weather Advisory, Some Snow Possible This Weekend In New Hampshire

National Weather Service: Wind chill values as low as 19 degrees below zero; expect below zero temps this weekend, too.

CONCORD, NH — Weather forecasters are warning of very cold temperatures this weekend in New Hampshire.

A “cold weather advisory” alert was issued for New Hampshire on Thursday afternoon, warning of wind chill values of many degrees below zero during the coming days. The advisory remains in effect through late morning on Friday.

“The cold wind chills as low as 20 to 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes,” the alert stated. “Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.”

Forecasters also warned residents to use caution when traveling and wear appropriate clothing — including a hat and gloves.

While it will be sunny on Friday, temperatures will not rise much out of the teens. Wind gusts, though, as high as 25 mph, will make it feel as low as 19 below zero in Concord and the capital region, 15 below zero in Nashua, central New Hampshire, and western Hillsborough County, and 17 below on the Seacoast.

On Saturday, there will be more sun, with highs in the teens and lows in the single digits or below zero during the evening and overnight hours.

On Sunday, there is a chance of snow in the early-to-late afternoon with highs in the mid-20s and lows in the teens during the evening and overnight hours.

Similar weather is expected on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
