Former NHDP Chairman, DNC Member Keefe Endorses Harris
Joe Keefe, a former congressional candidate, says the California Senator is the best candidate to beat President Donald Trump next year.

CONCORD, NH — After a strong debate performance on Thursday night, U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, D-CA, has earned a prominent party endorsement in the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary. Joe Keefe, a former New Hampshire Democratic Party chairman and DNC member has endorsed Harris calling her the best candidate to take on President Donald Trump in 2020. Keefe called Harris' proposals "concrete, practical solutions" to some of the issues facing New Hampshire families.
"Kamala Harris has shown time and time again that she is a uniquely talented leader who will return the White House to the American people," he noted. "She also knows how to prosecute the case against bad actors and to hold them accountable. She is a fighter … I am proud to endorse her."
Keefe is a major political player in the state, having run for Congress in the 1st Congressional District in 1988 and again 1996. He was an attorney with McLane Middleton and later, was the president and CEO for Pax World Management, an investment firm. Keefe also led a task force in 2005 to work to protect the New Hampshire primary. In the 2004 cycle, he backed then-U.S. Sen. John Kerry. Four years later, Keefe endorsed former CT Sen. Chris Dodd before shifting to then-Sen. Barack Obama.

In 2016, Keefe was named Social Innovator of the Year by UNH.
Harris will be back in the state in July and is scheduled to speak in Portsmouth in September.
