Franklin House Fire Goes To 2 Alarms
A fire at a single-family home on Sanborn Street was extinguished on Wednesday morning by Lakes Region firefighters.
FRANKLIN, NH — Lakes Region firefighters spent their morning battling a house fire in Franklin on Wednesday.
Around 1:30 a.m., the Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid Association began receiving calls about a fire on Sanborn Street near Calef Hill Road.
Franklin, Tilton-Northfield, and Sanbornton firefighters were the first ones sent to the home. Dispatch reported a woman called and said her house was on fire. She also said everyone had been evacuated from the building.

The first arriving firefighters reported “heavy fire” coming from the single-family structure. Firefighters tapped a hydrant not far from the home and began dousing the flames.
Dispatch re-toned requesting firefighters to the scene about eight minutes later. A few minutes later, the first alarm was struck.

However, a second alarm was immediately struck right afterward by fire command. Firefighters and EMTs from Andover, Belmont, Bristol, Gilford, Hill, Laconia, and New Hampton were requested after the second alarm.
Boscawen firefighters and the Penacook Rescue were requested to cover the city during the incident.
Fire command reported the heavy fire from outside the building had been knocked down around 1:45 a.m. Fire teams then entered the building to begin tackling the flames inside.
