Franklin Woman Allegedly Enjoys Steaks

Police: Merchant stole 13 pieces of meat in January.

A Franklin woman was arrested about two and half months after allegedly making off with at least 13 pieces of meat from , according to an arrest report.

Nina Merchant, 34, of Franklin, was arrested at 1:15 p.m. on April 18, and charged with theft.

Police allege that on Jan. 26, Merchant stole a number of items from the Walmart on Loudon Road. The items included a 12-pack of toilet paper, two ribeye steaks, 10 T-bone steaks, and a chuck roast.

Personal recognizance bail was set at $2,000. Merchant had a court date in Sixth Circuit District Court on April 18.

During the last month, the Concord Police have been to Walmart repeatedly for various theft charges with most of the alleged perpetrators being caught in the process of stealing items.
