Fugitive Burke Caught in Massachusetts

U.S. Marshals wanted Todd Burke for bail violations.

Todd H. Burke, 51, was found and arrested last night in Fitchburg, MA, after seeing himself in a Fugitive of the Week feature on WMUR-TV, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Burke was being sought for bail violations after being arrested for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute more than 100 kilos of marijuana. He had previously lived in northern Massachusetts, according to officials.

Burke was the Fugitive of the Week this week and reportedly saw himself on television. He contacted his attorney and “made indications that he wanted to surrender, but could not get to the U.S. District Court in Concord, NH yesterday,” according to Jeffrey White of the U.S. Marshals Service. The NH Joint Fugitive Task Force, however, already had a plan in place to attempt to arrest Burke. The marshals decided to stick with their plan, in an effort to avoid any possibility that he would change his mind about turning himself in.
