Furry & Feathered Friends Welcome at Blessing of the Animals Sat. 10/3 & Sun. 10/4

St. Paul's delivers annual Saint Francis Day blessings to creatures great and small.

This weekend, the pews at St. Paul’s Church in Concord will be dotted with furry and feathered friends. Animals are welcome to attend Saint Francis Day services and receive blessings on Saturday, 10/3 at 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, 10/4 at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. St. Paul’s Church is located at 21 Centre Street in Concord.

Those furry and feathered friends are also invited to attend an outdoor Blessing of the Animals at White Park. The Rev. Kate Atkinson of St. Paul’s and the Rev. Jason Wells of Grace Episcopal will meet, greet, and bless animals from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. at White Park near the peace pole and small garden, on the Centre St. side of the pond. In addition to blessings, there will be music, activities, and treats for people and animals alike.

The Blessing of the Animals events are family-friendly, free, and open to all. Blessings aren’t limited to dogs and cats. Scores of other critters, from goats and chickens, to bunnies and hamsters, receive blessings each year.
