Get Out! Granite State Music, Strawberries, and Gardens

Concord's weather plus everything you need to know about the weekend!

Here is everything you need to know about this weekend:

  • Showers possible off and on. The National Weather Service is saying that it will be hot this weekend but rain is possible. On Saturday, expect some minor showers in the afternoon but sunny skies before, with highs in the mid-80s. Overnight, T-storms possible, with temps in the mid-50s. Similar weather is expected on Sunday, but the afternoon and evening look good. Sun is expected on Monday.
  • This weekend’s Granite State Music Festival. The second annual music fest is happening on the waterfront of the Merrimack River near the Everett Arena. More than 20 bands, rocking out, for two days. Tickets are $20 each day.
  • Yard sales! Looking for them? Patch has ‘em! Here’s a link to the Patch yard sale post. Plus, Barbara tells me that there will be a multi-family sale at 8 a.m. on Saturday on Washington Street. The Immanuel Community Church has a mega-yard sale at 9 a.m. Saturday.
  • Concord Arts Market. Cool art and other items, made in New Hampshire? Check out the Concord Arts Market in Bicentennial Square starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
  • Concord Farmers’ Market. You can get food straight from the farm plus all kinds of other items like meat, bread, flowers, etc. It can all to be had on Capitol Street, from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
  • Garden tour. The South Congregational Church is holding its fourth annual garden tour at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $25.
  • Strawberry festival. The Bow Mills United Methodist Church, just over the Concord line, is holding its fifth annual strawberry festival at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
  • Space, the final frontier … At the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center at noon on Sunday, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and Cosmic Ray Telescope for the Effects of Radiation will be discussed. The event is free.
  • Yoga by donation. Sharing Yoga is offering a chance to take in yoga by donation at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Instructors will be donating their time for those who can’t afford a regular class.
