Gifts From Our Hands Show on Display Through December
Craftsmen from Bedford, Concord, Londonderry, Merrimack, Penacook, and Nashua all participating.

Every piece of fine handmade craft starts as an idea or an inspiration and is then brought to life by the skillful hand of a master craftsman. The League of NH Craftsmen is showcasing the creativity and expertise of its juried members in an exhibition called Gifts From Our Hands: What We Do Best. This multimedia exhibition features more than 140 handcrafted pieces including elegant silver jewelry featuring gemstones, pearls or dichroic glass; handspun knit shawls; intricate bead woven neckpieces; detailed ceramic tiles; raku-fired stoneware; serigraphs, silver gelatin prints, and photographs of beautiful nature scenes; a hand lantern; woven basket; multi-media wall hangings, and more. All the fine craft items on display are made by juried League members (a list appears at the end of this release) and are available for purchase.
During the Gifts From Our Hands exhibition, there will be a corresponding Show-Within-A-Show of Traditional Photography. League photographers will exhibit work created in a darkroom. Tools and equipment will also be on display.
The exhibition runs until December 19 at The Gallery at The Craft Center and headquarters in the SMILE! building on 49 South Main St. in Concord. The Gallery is located at 49 South Main St., Suite 100, in Concord, and is open Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, with extended hours on Thursdays until 7 pm, and Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm.

“An item made by hand is truly one-of-a-kind and brings us a personal experience each time we enjoy it,” said League Executive Director Susie Lowe-Stockwell. “Visitors will see a wide range of fine handmade craft, each representing the distinct vision and talent of our juried members.”

The League also displays a new selection of fine craft from its more than 300-lot permanent collection at the Grodin Permanent Collection Museum at the League headquarters. This collection includes craft from the League’s early years to the present, including pieces made by some of the world’s renowned craftspeople, such as Otto and Vivika Heino and Edwin and Mary Scheier. The museum provides fascinating insights into the evolution of fine craft and should not be missed. Admission to the museum is free.
