CONCORD, NH — Breast cancer can be a difficult disease for anyone to battle, at any stage of life. But when a young wife and mother contracts the disease, it can be even more stressful. Brandon Walker of Concord has set up a GoFundMe.com effort to assist his wife, Madison, in fighting the disease. According to an effort launched Wednesday (Cancer Sucks! Help Madison save her tatas!), his wife, 26, found out about her illness just before Christmas, and it is in an aggressive state.

The family has been involved in a flurry appointments and procedures to beat the cancer since that time.

"We have done all the tests in the book from biopsies, genetic testing to bone scans," Brandon wrote. "It has been a very long couple of weeks with lots of different doctors and doctors' appointments. All of these tests and doctors' appointments have brought us to going to Boston for a second opinion then comes a game plan on if we do chemo before or after surgery and what surgery she will need. Madison has been very tough as much as she can be with all of this stress and information on top of always trying to be strong for our baby girl Elena."

The stress of being sick is just one part of the fight; the other part is the financial issues that come with a breast cancer fight including missing work, hospital bills, and taking care of a young child. The goal for the effort is set at $10,000. A little less than $1,000 has been raised at post time.

"I am asking for a little help so that she has one less thing to worry and stress about," he wrote. "Please anything will be greatly appreciated."
