Goodwill Gives $100K To Nonprofits To Assist With ‘Personal Stability’
CATCH Neighborhood Housing and Families in Transition will receive funds; gift cards will also be donated to local food banks and shelters.

MANCHESTER, NH — Goodwill Northern New England is speeding up its decade-long goal to move 10,000 into stability in all three states.
As part of this effort, the nonprofit is donating $100,000 to local nonprofits. Two nonprofit partners this year include CATCH Neighborhood Housing and Families in Transition, which will receive donations through its Partner Stability Fund. Food banks, shelters, and others will also receive gift cards.
CATCH offers housing and educational services in Merrimack County. The nonprofit has constructed both affordable and market-rate units while revitalizing existing housing and buildings in the capital region.

Families in Transition, one of the state’s largest homeless services organizations, has locations in Concord, Dover, Manchester, and Wolfeboro. It provides intervention services and assists the homeless and families to lead healthy and successful lives.
“We know when someone needs food or shelter, they need other support too — including Goodwill’s workforce services, which offers free career training and job placements,” Barbara Sawyer, the nonprofit’s volunteer and community partner manager, said. “Goodwill moved more than 5,000 people into personal stability in the last five years through our healthcare and employment programs. But we know other nonprofits are helping people in just as much need in other ways. If we can support their work, we’ll help more people faster.”

The fund is sustained by donors, corporate partners, and shoppers at Goodwill stores who “round up” their purchases at registers. The program replaces an old paper voucher system and replaces it with new gift cards for customer ease and dignity.
