GOP Rep Investigating Fast & Furious, IRS Scandals Coming to NH
U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-CA, will keynote annual Lincoln Day Dinner in Concord on Feb. 17.

The head of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee investigating a number of scandals involving the federal government and Obama Administration personnel is coming to Concord to speak at the annual Lincoln Day Dinner next month.
U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-CA, has accepted the invitation from the Concord Republican City Committee along with the Merrimack County Republican Committee to be a keynote speaker at the dinner, to be held on Feb. 17, at the Grappone Conference Center.
Issa, in a statement, said that it was a great opportunity to discuss “two conversations” about the future of the Republican Party during the next two election cycles.

“The first,” Issa stated, “is whether or not the Republican Party can define itself as the party that supports individual opportunity and American entrepreneurship so that you can be the engine of your own prosperity, not government. The second comes down to how comfortable the American people are with a large, invasive and powerful government that escapes accountability with no check-and-balance.”
Kerry Marsh, the chairwoman of the Concord GOP, was excited that Issa would be in Concord to speak.

“From Operation Fast & Furious to the IRS targeting scandal to the disastrous implementation of the President’s health care plan, Congressman Issa has been standing with the American people to protect their right to know what this government is doing and we are very excited that he is coming to New Hampshire to headline our annual event,” Marsh said in a statement. “Every year, this dinner gets bigger and has become one of New Hampshire’s signature political events.”
Bryan Gould, the chairman of the county committee, commended Issa, saying that no one “has worked harder to hold the Obama Administration accountable,” adding that he was a patriot and “standing up to them and for all of us.”
Issa has represented the 49th District in California since 2001. He’s an Army veteran and founder of Directed Electronics, the company that invented the Viper vehicle anti-theft system.
