Gun Fired During Road Rage Incident Leads to Charges

Hooksett Police arrest Philip Scordato of Loudon for allegedly shooting at another vehicle on Route 3.

HOOKSETT, NH - A local man was arrested this week after allegedly firing his gun at another vehicle during a road rage incident earlier this month on Route 3 in Hooksett.

Philip Scordato, 23, of Loudon, was arrested and charged with reckless conduct and criminal threatening.

According to Hooksett Police, at around 5 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2015, officers and detectives were called to the area of Hooksett Road and Mount Saint Mary’s Way for a report of shots being fired.

During their investigation, detectives discovered a road rage incident involving the drivers of two vehicles that began near the Shaw’s Plaza on Hooksett Road.

“Ultimately, when the vehicles neared Mount Saint Mary’s Way, the driver of one vehicle fired a 9 mm handgun in the direction of the other vehicle,” according to a report. Police recovered six empty shell casings at the scene.”

Detectives completed an extensive investigation which led to identification of the suspect and seizure of his vehicle. A search warrant was granted and detectives recovered the weapon they believe was involved in the shooting.

An arrest warrant was issued for Scordato and he was arrested. He was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in the 6th Circuit Hooksett District Court on Jan. 26, 2016.
