Gun Threat Incident Reported At Concord Heights Burger King: Watch

CONCORD, NH — Concord police, Merrimack County deputies, and New Hampshire State Police troopers were searching the Concord Heights on Wednesday for a man accused of flashing a gun at Burger King employees and threatening them.

Police were called around 12:30 p.m. to the Loudon Road location for a report of a customer punching at the drive-through window and threatening employees. Dispatch told officers heading to the scene that the restaurant was locked down.

Store employees told dispatch during the call that the suspect, a man, was “waving a gun” at them, and then fled the scene. A woman was reportedly driving the vehicle, a gray SUV, believed to be a Hyundai. She later left the scene. The vehicle was registered to a resident of Pembroke.

An employee told dispatch that a cruiser had just driven by the man. Outside Friendly’s Restaurant, officers approached a man and detained him, but he was cleared later.

Officers arrived at the scene and then began searching the area for the suspect. New Hampshire State Police troopers were contacted, and they and Merrimack County Sheriff’s deputies began searching the area for the suspect. Police also circulated a picture of the suspect from a security camera.

The man was described as wearing a black shirt with an orange hoodie underneath and carrying a black satchel with white lettering. The man was wearing a black beanie hat, black glasses, and had a beard and mustache, or a goatee. The suspect’s hair color was “obstructed,” and the man’s race, height, or build were not mentioned.

Officers searched Loudon Road, including residential yards and business parking lots, but could not find the suspect.

Later, while questioning business owners and employees in the Lamplighter Plaza, one stated they recognized the suspect, stated he walked by their store daily and came from the Concord Gardens apartment complex.

Police requested a K-9 unit and are searching the area for the gun, presuming the suspect ditched it after fleeing the restaurant.

Around 2 p.m., the suspect was found in the basement of a home on Broadway in Pembroke.

The gun was also located. Police said the gun found was believed to be the one displayed during the incident.
