Happy Birthday, Concord NH Patch!

OK, if you haven’t figured it out yet, Concord NH Patch is 1 today. Yeah!

The site launched on June 17, 2011. Since that time, the Concord site and Patch have shown exciting growth and phenomenal success. And we continue to grow. Patch is now the fifth largest local/regional property on the web – in three short years. Last month, we had more than 11.7 million users to our sites.

As a reader, blogger, newsletter subscriber, commenter online, or tracker on Facebook or Twitter, you have played an important role in our success. Each and every day, you let us into your lives and for this, I thank you, truly, for making this first year such an exhilarating and exciting experience.

In the last 365 days, Concord NH Patch has had some moments.

I was hired just a few weeks before launch, so it was a scramble to get it all together in time. Meeting and getting to talk to most of the Republican presidential candidates was pretty cool. Reading the shout out in one of Arianna Huffington’s columns for the was even cooler. Winning the , having strangers say, “Hi Patch guy!” and getting thank you emails mean so much. Thank you!

Concord, as we all know, is a very special place and not just because it is our home or the state capital. I, not unlike many of you, have kids in the schools, shop downtown, attend events, and interact with our city’s people, places, and things. As a native of the city, whose family has lived here for more than a century, running the Concord NH Patch is more than just a job. It’s a responsibility, one that I take very seriously, to make sure you know all you need to know.

Like The Carpenters song says, “We’ve only just begun … “

Concord NH Patch enters year two with all kinds of new initiatives, advertising opportunities, stories to tell and other stuff, with an eye towards the future. You can continue to help us grow and become even more dynamic by lending your time and your voice to the site.
