Hazardous NH Weather: Severe Thunderstorm Alert

National Weather Service says damaging winds, "strong to severe thunderstorms," and hail is possible this afternoon in the Granite State.

The National Weather Service updated its hazardous weather outlook from Sunday earlier today, warning that “strong to severe thunderstorms” are possible today.

While showers moved through New Hampshire this morning, more are expected, according to forecasters. They are expected to be isolated, but “the main threats would be damaging winds and small hail,” according to the alert.

The hazardous weather outlook advisory was issued just before 3:30 a.m. on June 7 for most of New Hampshire, including Merrimack, Hillsborough and Rockingham counties. The central and southern parts of the state are also expected to get the worst brunt of the storms.

While the alert is through Tuesday night only, rain is expected on Wednesday morning, too.
