Head-On Crash In East Concord; 2 Injured, Sent To The Hospital

Watch: Concord police and fire and rescue teams were sent to a multi-vehicle crash at Hoit Road and Mountain Road on Thursday.

CONCORD, NH — Parts of the intersection of Hoit Road and Mountain Road were closed to traffic for more than 90 minutes after a head-on crash on Thursday.

Around 12:30 p.m., police and fire and rescue teams headed to the area for multiple calls about the crash. At one point, police dispatch reported a person in the middle of the road. Later, dispatch learned the man was sitting up and speaking.

Police arrived and found a head-on crash between a Ford Fusion sedan and a Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV. Plates on two other vehicles, a Chevrolet Suburban and a Honda Ridgeline, were also checked and stopped at the scene, according to scanner chatter.

Police rerouted traffic around the accident, sending eastbound drivers onto Freedom Acres Drive to Mountain Road.

A tow truck arrived just before 2 p.m. to remove the sedan while the other vehicles left without needing tows.

Two people were taken to Concord Hospital, one with a head injury, by Concord EMTs and the Penacook Rescue team.
