Heavy Rain, Flooding, Wind Gusts Up To 45 MPH, Coming To New Hampshire: Week Ahead Weather
Stormy pre-spring weather is expected for the first part of the week, with chilly temperatures returning later in the week.
CONCORD, NH — A flood watch was issued on Sunday afternoon for the entire state of New Hampshire, with weather forecasters warning of heavy rain and wind gusts up to 45 mph on Monday.
As much as 2 inches of rain is expected across most of New Hampshire, with up to 3 inches in the White Mountains and other higher-elevation areas. Ice movement is expected across all state rivers. However, the risk of isolated ice-jam flooding will be highest in the northern part of the state.
“Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,” an alert stated. “Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.”
