Help Yourself to Some Frozen Yogurt at Dips

A self-service frozen yogurt shop has opened in Downtown Concord.

North Main Street now has a new frozen yogurt shop.

Dips Frozen Yogurt opened for business on May 20, next door to Thorne’s of Concord.

The shop offers 12 flavors of self-serve frozen yogurt at any given time, at six serving stations, with all kinds of toppings. A customer grabs a bowl and puts whatever flavors they want into it.

The idea for the shop came to Nick Harriman when he was in college. He said he wrote a business plan in his senior year and with some guidance from his father, put together the business.

Harriman said he uses local producers, such as Stonyfield Yogurt and Contoocook Creamery, for the base of the yogurt, as well as fruit from local farms. The shop had on-hand a non-dairy, soy-based yogurt too.

This weekend, the shop will be holding its grand opening, with free T-shirts, giveaways, and prizes, as well as extended hours.

The space had previously been vacant for a bit of time nd before that, had offered a number of retail stores including a flower show, nutrition/health food store, and a travel agency.
