Herschlag: A Sad — But Not Unexpected — Day

I had already written my thoughts on the events that occurred this past Wednesday in our Nation’s Capitol and was getting ready to post them when I came across this statement that Arnold Schwarzenegger had made.

I urge you to take the time to listen to his words. The seven minutes and thirty-nine seconds it takes to listen to him will provide you a perspective from someone who grew up in a country that allied themselves with Germany in World Ward II and the toll it took on them.

While warning of the perils of following those that would lie and distort the truth, it is ultimately an optimistic message. Schwarzenegger believes in the strength of our democracy and that it will not only prevail but become even stronger.
