Hey, Jose! Hurricane Expected To Bring Wind, Rain To NH

While the storm appears to be losing steam, it could still bring hazardous weather to the region, including New Hampshire.

GRAY, ME — As Hurricane Jose heads northeast, weather forecasters are warning of some effects of the storm heading into New England, including New Hampshire. As of 1 p.m. on Sept. 18, 2017, the National Weather Service noted that the storm had lost “some tropical characteristics” while it is off the coast of North Carolina. However, it will still bring wind and rain to the area during the next few days.

Tropical storm watches and warning have been issued for Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

The New Hampshire coast is expected to see heavy seas, rough surf, and some flooding by midweek. If the storm doesn’t head out to sea, it could bring heavy localized downpours, travel disruptions, flooding, and power outages.

Another hurricane – Maria – is also heading into the Caribbean and forecasters are not ruling out the possibility that it could also hit the northeast.
