Hiker With Head Injury Assisted In The West End

Breaking: Concord Fire and Rescue teams were at the water tower off the Langley Parkway trail to assist a hiker this morning.

CONCORD, NH — Concord Fire and Rescue teams were sent to Auburn Street – and then, deep into the woods of the West End – to assist a hiker with a head injury on May 13, 2019. After they arrived and set up a command on Auburn Street, firefighters looked for the man who had slipped, fallen, and hit their head on a rock near the water tower between Concord Hospital and just east of Winant Park, and just north of the trail that is proposed to be the third leg of the Langley Parkway, according to scanner chatter.

Firefighters also prepared a trailer that could be brought into the woods to move the injured party out of the area.

That trailer was not needed, however. When paramedics found the hiker, he was conscious and later, able to stand on his own. Personnel at the scene stated that they believed he would be OK.

Firefighters came out of the woods with the man and cleared the scene at just after 11:30 a.m.
