Holiday Happenings Continue; Flood Watch Through Monday; More: Get Out, New Hampshire
As the song goes, "They call it stormy Monday …" But when considering this week's weather, "Tuesday's (not) as bad." Plus: Fun things to do.
CONCORD, NH — Chilly temperatures but clear skies are on the horizon after scattered showers on Monday.
Expect the Sunday storm to continue into Monday, with rain before noon and then showers in the afternoon. Highs are expected to be in the mid-40s and there might be fog here and there. Wind gusts could reach as high as 35 mph, with breezes expected to be between 10 and 20 mph. At least an inch of rain is expected.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service warned of flooding due to the heavy rain, snowmelt, and runoff.

“Rain will overspread the region tonight, bringing multiple rounds of heavy rainfall through Monday,” a hazardous weather alert stated Sunday. “The warm, moist air is expected to melt out the snowpack from the foothills southward. Most areas should anticipate 1 to 3 inches of rainfall, which will cause small streams and rivers to reach bankfull.”
Forecasters did warn that “a heavier swath of 3 to 5 inches is possible from the foothills to the coast,” and all of that rain “could result in potentially significant flash flooding and widespread stream flooding.”

For the rest of the week, expect mostly sunny skies on Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Overnight temps will be in the mid-20s from Monday to Wednesday. But temps will drop down into the teens on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
The weather for the weekend looks nice — partly sunny and in the mid-40s.
