Homeless Woman Overdoses, Dies Under Loudon Road Bridge In Concord
Concord police are investigating the death of a woman who OD'd and died under the bridge near Kiwanis Park and the Everett Arena on Sunday.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police and fire and rescue teams were sent to a fatal overdose on Loudon Road on Sunday.
Around 8:15 p.m., capital region dispatch received a call about a woman who was not conscious or breathing with CPR being performed. Police dispatch also received a call about a possible overdose of a woman near the Everett Arena on Loudon Road.
The first responding officers were familiar with the caller and the woman and believed she was in the camps behind the boat house, on state property, which has been a problem, off and on, for more than a decade. Officers began to search for her and were unable to find her camp.

An officer later said another person in the camps told them the woman had moved her camp, possibly to the area underneath the Interstate 393 bridge.
Before leaving the camps behind the boat house, the officer checked one last spot and requested the initial caller be called back to try and find exactly where the woman was located.

Fire dispatch asked the commander if other EMTs should be sent to check I-393 or Manchester Street, and the commander said to hold off a few minutes. Another officer though, who was near Route 106 checking a potential drunk driver near the Loudon town line, headed to I-393 to check the camps there.
A few minutes later, an officer spoke to another homeless woman who stated the emergency was near the boat ramp. The officer under the I-393 bridge also cleared, saying there was “nothing going on over here,” according to scanner chatter.
After speaking to the initial caller, who said the woman was underneath the Loudon Road Bridge, firefighters and officers headed to that area.
“She’s not alert and not conscious,” an officer said.
EMTs began CPR, attempting to revive the woman, but were unsuccessful. After about four or five minutes, she was declared “code gray.”
Firefighters cleared the area while officers remained at the scene to investigate and speak to others. An officer reported finding a needle nearby and requested some assistance gathering it. Police also put up yellow tape around the crime scene area.
