CONCORD, NH — Last week’s New Hampshire fugitive of the week, who was wanted on homicide and robbery charges, has been captured, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Ricardo “JuJu” Ferguson, 36, formerly of the Bronx, New York, was a suspect in a fatal shooting and a violation of the Hobbs Act — which is robbery that interferes with interstate commerce. He was suspected to have fled to New Hampshire after the shooting, where he has family, friends, and associates, Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal said.

Marshals in both New Hampshire and with the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force “worked closely” to try and find Ferguson, fearing he was “armed and dangerous,” due to the allegations against him.

“Over the past few weeks, a lot of time and effort was put into tracking down Ferguson both in New Hampshire and New York,” White said.

During the investigation, which included the work of the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office and the Greenfield, Manchester, and the New York City police departments, tips pointed to both states. After “intense pressure,” including being featured as the fugitive of the week, “Ferguson fled New Hampshire,” he said, “(after his) friends and family learned of these extremely serious accusations.”

White said Ferguson “was forced to stay on the streets of New York City” and was arrested on Friday, without incident, in Times Square by members of the U.S. Marshals-New York/New Jersey Fugitive Task Force.

Ferguson was in U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Friday and held.

“New Hampshire is not impervious to these types of offenses or offenders, which is why the U.S. Marshals has a well-established network of investigators that are dedicated to tracking them down,” U.S. Marshal Nick Willard said. “Due to these extensive efforts by the task forces, Mr. Ferguson was safely arrested and brought before a judge to face these very serious allegations.”
