Honduran Pleads Guilty to Illegal Re-Entering United States Again

U.S. Court: Salvador Lopez-Hernandez had been previously deported; will be sentenced in November.

CONCORD, NH — A Honduran, previously deported for being an illegal alien in the United States, pled guilty earlier this week to illegally entering the United States again, according to U.S. Attorney Emily Gray Rice. Salvador Lopez-Hernandez, of Honduras, pled guilty after an indictment was handed down in July, according to a press statement.

A deportation officer developed information indicating that Salvador Lopez-Hernandez, a Honduran national, was present in the United States after having been deported on a previous occasion. On June 15, 2016, deportation officers approached the defendant who confirmed that his name was Salvador Lopez-Hernandez and that he was illegally present in the United States without any immigration documents. His identity later was confirmed through fingerprint information, according to Rice.

He will be sentenced on Nov. 22, 2016, and then deported after serving the sentence, according to a statement.
