Hooksett Teen Shot in Manchester

Police are investigating a shooting incident from last night involving Isaac Velez, who was arrested in July after gang shootout.

Police in the Queen City are investigating a shooting incident that reportedly injured a Hooksett teen that was arrested earlier this year during a gang shootout in Manchester.

Isaac Velez, 18, was reportedly shot at around 8 p.m. on Oct. 20, 2015, outside of Gill Stadium in Manchester.

Investigators believe that the incident is not a random act of violence.

“Detectives have reason to believe the person or person responsible for shooting Velez are known to him and will continue the investigation in an attempt to identify and arrest the responsible party,” said Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department.

O’Keefe said the department had no additional information about the incident to share because it was an “ongoing and active investigation.” He also stated that he didn’t know Velez’s current medical status.

According to emergency alerts, Velez was reportedly shot in the stomach and then taken to the Elliot at the Rivers Edge for treatment.

Velez was arrested on July 9, 2015, on a reckless conduct charge after allegedly being involved in one of two shooting incidents in the area of South and Lowell streets on July 7, and July 8, 2015, reportedly between two rival gangs.
