Hopkinton Man Arrested for Drunk Driving
Merrimack Police arrest Matthew Windhurst yesterday for OUI, open container.

A local man is scheduled to be in court next month after being arrested for drunk driving yesterday.
Matthew Windhurst, 24, of Checkerberry Lane in Hopkinton, was arrested on Oct. 27, 2015, and charged with operating under the influence-liquor and open container.

According to police, at around 11:15 a.m., officers were called to Gerard Road in Merrimack for a report of a suspicious vehicle on the end of the street.
When they arrived, police located a 2003 Jeep Wrangler reportedly being operated by Windhurst.

“When the officer spoke with him, he could detect signs of alcohol impairment,” according to Sgt. Ted Dillon of the Merrimack Police Department. “After a brief investigation, Windhurst was placed under arrest for O.U.I.L. Also in the car was an open can of beer found in the center console.”
Windhurst processed on the charges and released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail. He’s due in court on Nov. 12.
