Huge Mega Millions, Powerball Jackpots​ Up For Grabs On Friday, Saturday In New Hampshire

Lottery officials estimate Friday's Mega Millions jackpot will jump to $368 million while Saturday's Powerball jackpot will reach $493M.

CONCORD, NH — Two lottery jackpot games continue to grow after not having winners since April, according to New Hampshire Lottery officials.

Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is expected to be $368 million with a one-time cash payout, before taxes, or more than $193 million. Saturday’s Powerball jackpot will be around $493 million. The one-time payout is expected to be more than $253 million before taxes.

“We are thrilled for our players as these dueling jackpots are getting closer and closer to the $1 billion mark,” Charlie McIntyre, the New Hampshire Lottery executive director, said. “We anticipate fireworks, sparklers, grilling, and a steady increase in sales right through the holiday weekend with a Mega Millions drawing tomorrow night and the Powerball drawing Saturday night. Here’s hoping our New Hampshire players have more than one thing to celebrate this weekend.”

Lottery profits are an integral part of education funding in New Hampshire. Nearly $2.5 billion has gone toward funding K-12 schools. Officials said of the lottery’s $8.5 billion in sales during the last 59 years, $5.7 billion has been paid out in prizes and other sales costs.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. Powerball drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. Tickets are on sale at more than 1,200 retailers statewide and online at NH iLottery.
