A Huge Tree Falls In Concord's West End

Residents of Orion and Forest streets have a mess to clean up after a huge silver maple tree tipped over this week.

CONCORD, NH — Several West End neighborhood residents will have to deal with a lot of debris after a tree fell in the backyard of a home on Orion Street this week.

The tree, believed to be a silver maple, was around three and a half feet wide with an estimated 90-inch-plus circumference, making it in the 80 to 90 years old range.

Neighborhood residents did not even know it fell because they said it made no noise when it did.

The tree had been tilting for many years, and its roots were on the edge of what was once a tiny pond decades ago between the Orion and Forest streets homes.

The tree destroyed a garden, furniture, and other items, but missed a shed on a neighboring property.
