I-393 Offramp Shut Down After Crash In Concord

Watch: Concord firefighters and Tri-Town EMTs extricate 2 from car after rollover at Exit 1; 2 other patients checked for injuries.

CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams, New Hampshire State Police, and Concord police were all sent to a rollover crash that injured multiple people and closed two Interstate offramps on Friday.

At just before 7 p.m., capital region fire dispatch received a report about a rollover on I-393 at the Exit 1 offramp. Police, dispatch said, requested multiple ambulances due to the number of injuries.

A battalion commander stationed not far on North State Street said they would update when they arrived. They reported four or five cars possibly involved with one car in the ditch.

“There’s a car in a ditch, and it looks like there are still people in the car,” the battalion chief said.

Another firefighter confirmed extrication was needed, and more firefighters were sent. They reported at least four patients injured, including two stuck in the car.

Three more ambulances, including Tri-Town from Pembroke, Loudon EMTs, and the Penacook Rescue, were all requested to the crash. Later, the Penacook Rescue and Loudon EMTs were called off after a Concord ambulance was able to head to the crash, and firefighters realized they only need three ambulances.

New Hampshire State Police blocked off the offramp. Ambulances were also required to loop around to Exit 15W on I-93 south to access the crash scene. That offramp was also closed to traffic.

Around 7:30 p.m., the two people trapped in the car were freed.

At post time, both offramps were still closed to traffic.
