IMAGE GALLERY: Concord School District's Champions of Children

Principals from schools in the honored valued volunteers in their schools on April 2, as part of the national Champion for Children program.

The nominees for 2011-2012 included Kristin O'Connor at Beaver Meadow Elementary School; Jen Devanny at Broken Ground; Ivy Klopfenstein at Conant Rumford; Michelle Myler at Dame; Erica Feldman at Kimball Walker; Sheila Morris at Rundlett Middle School; and Anna-Marie DiPasquale.

All were commended for doing such things as setting up exciting and compelling extracurricular activities for students, assisting parent-teacher organizations, and working with immigrant students and families from other parts of the world and helping them get assimilated and thrive in the system.

After receiving certificates and standing ovations from those in attendance, each volunteer was thanked by members.
