Drill hoped to train first responders on how to end a hostage situation safely.
The New Hampshire State Police in conjunction with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services held a “readiness drill” on Feb. 13.
The “Code Silver” drill involved state troopers, the Concord Police Department, Concord Fire and Rescue teams, as well as the state hospital and Homeland Security and Emergency Management dealing with a mock hostage situation.
The presence of an armored vehicle and first responders with military weapons turned more than a few heads, according to some at the scene.
