Improvement Projects Re-start Tuesday

Contractors will install granite curbing, catch basins on North State Street.

After the July 4 holiday, contractors will continue work on a number of projects in the city, according to City Manager Tom Aspell's weekly memo.

The base pavement has been completed on North State Street and work will shift to the installation of granite curbing, catch basins, manhole covers, and water valves. The work will take place between Hillcrest Avenue and Dolan Street, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Traffic delays are expected so plan ahead.

The asphalt berm will be replaced on Thayer Pond Road and King Street. Next week, Badger, Blake, and Springfield, this week as well.

Drainage work has also begun at Shawmut Street and Randolph Road. Contractors expect the project to take about two or three weeks.

The Rattlesnake Brook culvert replacement project also continues on North State Street, with traffic being cut to one lane, so expect delays there too. Check out our Image Gallery of what is going on at Rattlesnake Brook.
