International Angelman Day Recognized By NH Governor, Concord
Gov. Kelly Ayotte, Mayor Byron Champlin, and others recognized International Angelman Day on Saturday.

CONCORD, NH — In case you missed it, due to the snowstorm, the Hotel Concord was lit up in blue Saturday to honor International Angelman Awareness Day, according to those involved in the education effort about the syndrome.
Gov. Kelly Ayotte also issued a proclamation on Friday to honor the day, Feb. 15.
Angelman syndrome is a rare neurogenetic disorder caused by a loss of function of the UBE3A gene on the 15th chromosome, which is inherited from the child’s mother. It occurs in one in every 15,000 births, or around half a million people worldwide.
