Kass Ardinger: a committed public servant, and a Senator to be proud of in District 15.

The Democratic State Senate candidates for 2014 are an amazingly powerful group.  They bring experience, commitment, intelligence and determination to their races, and I for one am beginning to think that all the hoopla about 2014 being a “great year for the GOP” is just that, hoopla.

One candidate in particular is a favorite of mine.  Her name is Kass Ardinger, and she is running in Senate District 15 for the seat now held by my friend Sylvia Larsen.  Kass is a woman I have known for decades.  Actually, all of us from Sullivan County know her as the daughter of passionate Democrats, Charlie and Joy, and of course she is the niece of Harry Spanos, the former Senate President and candidate for Governor.

Kass brings such elegant performance to her years of public service in the city of Concord.  There is a factoid in the text of a recent op ed written by Kass that exemplifies what I mean by this.  During her five years as President of the Concord School Board, she oversaw the construction of three new elementary schools for the city. All of them came in on spec, on time and under budget.  And the construction of three terrific new schools was accomplished without a tax increase!

Now I think that’s a terrific accomplishment, but it’s nothing more than what I would expect of Kass.  She is so hard working and committed to the best interests of her constituents, and she is so independent minded and smart. Like Sylvia, Kass will be a State Senator eager to solve real problems, seeking solutions from both sides of the aisle. I’m not just confident, I’m positive she will serve Senate District 15, and the whole of our Granite State, brilliantly.
