Ken Burns Comes to Concord

Red River Theatres premieres "The Central Park Five."

On Dec. 17, Ken Burns premiered his latest film, "The Central Park Five," at Red River Theatres to a sold out crowd.

"We were so excited to have him back. We sent out the eblast about the event and sold out in thre hours!"  said Shelly Hudson, executive director.

The evening, that included an exclusive reception with Ken before the screening and  was followed by a sold out Q & A with the filmmaker, was sponsored by the New Hampshire Humanities Council and part of an ongoing partnership with New Hampshire Public Television.

Hudson said, "These partnerships are so important to our mission. Red River is here to engage, enlighten and entertain the greater Capital region and beyond and these types of relationships make that happen!" 

Deborah Watrous, executive director of the New Hampshire Humanities Council added, “I cannot imagine a more appropriate collaboration for us. Ken Burns documents the stories that help us make sense of who we are as Americans. What an honor to be involved in the New Hampshire premiere of his newest production and to have Ken there.”
