Learn About Embroidered Jewelry, Enjoy Art Walk

Here are 5 Things you need to know for April 19, 2013, in Concord.

  1. Clouds and rain. Expect them. Rain should hit the city before 11 a.m. and then in the afternoon. Temperatures, however, will be in the mid-70s (!!!) Overnight lows will be in the high 40s, with showers here and there.
  2. Embroidered jewelry. Artist Bob Dorr shows you how to make contemporary jewelry using embroidery techniques at 10 a.m. at the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen.
  3. Art walk! The Friends Program Art Walk will be held at 4 p.m. beginning at the Concord Food Co-op and then ending with a reception at Merrimack County Savings Bank on North Main Street at 6 p.m.
  4. Music tonight. Victor Cayres plays piano at the Concord City Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Joan Watson Jones plays with Kid Jazz at the Purple Pit at 8 p.m.
  5. Other stuff. Concord Toastmasters holds a meeting at 7 a.m. at the American Red Cross. Jen has a Zumba class at 5:30 p.m. at the Concord Dance Academy. The NHTI/Delta Dental 5K road race will be at 6:45 p.m. at NHTI.
