Local Vet To Raise Capital through Mainvest to Fund Funeral Home

Mainvest, the community investment platform, is facilitating the funding of Mizen Funeral Home in Bedford, New Hampshire. Founder Aaron Mizen, a retired marine and current director of Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, is seeking investment to venture out on his own and open the first funeral home in Bedford. The 8,900 square foot facility has two memorial chapels, warm and inviting private areas for families and a 1,500 square foot reception area to celebrate the life of a loved one. Utilizing Mainvest to raise funds through community investment, Mizen is excited about the opportunity to include local community members in the opening of the town’s first funeral home, located right off of heavily traveled Route 101.

While working in Methuen, Massachusetts, Mizen became somewhat of a local celebrity by writing obituaries and providing funerals to late veterans who had no local family members. He extended an invitation to the community and generated a massive turn out of strangers attending to pay their respects. As the leader of a local chapter of a veterans advocacy group, Mizen is bringing his active nonprofit and community involvement to his new business. Mizen will continue providing funerals to late veterans as well as allowing nonprofits the use of his meeting rooms. Mizen says that his funeral home will take a new perspective on death by focusing on making funerals a celebration of life.
