Local Woman Faces Felony Theft Charges
Concord Police allege that Stephanie Dupont stole items from The Paper Store on Fort Eddy Road.

A local woman was arraigned this week on felony theft charges after being arrested in May, according to police. Stephanie Joyce Dupont, 30, of Concord, was arrested at 12:04 p.m. on May 23, and charged with two felony counts of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer based on two previous misdemeanor convictions from The Paper Store on Fort Eddy Road on May 11, and May 12.

According to an arrest report, an officer contacted the Shea Farm Correctional Facility to inform staff that Dupont, a resident at the facility until May 25, was wanted on a warrant. She was in a seven day setback program, according to staffers.

Later on in the day, the officer went to Shea to take Dupont into custody. According to the officer, during transportation, Dupont allegedly stated that she was “not thinking straight” on the day she was interviewed about the case and had not stolen anything from the store.
“Ms. Dupont stated that the items that she returned to me belonged to her sister and were not stolen,” the officer alleged. “(She) stated that there was no video of her stealing anything.”

After booking, she was transported back to Shea. Dupont was arraigned on June 30.
This is not Dupont’s only run-in with the law. In November 2012, she was charged with felony theft after allegedly stealing $184 items from the J.C. Penny at the Steeplegate Mall, according to a report on Patch. In July 2012, she was arrested in Nashua for theft by unauthorized taking or transferring (shoplifting), resisting arrest, and resisting detention.
