Long-Time Felon From The Upper Valley Wanted By New Hampshire Parole Board
Steven Gilbert Bennett, who has been convicted on drug, theft, and robbery charges, is wanted by corrections for parole violations.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is asking for the public’s help finding a missing parolee who is wanted for release violations.
Steven Gilbert Bennett is 49, white, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighs 215 pounds. He has blue eyes and blond or strawberry hair. Investigators said Bennett has missing fingers on his right hand and a scar on his left wrist.
Bennett was released on parole in July 2023 after a theft conviction. He was living in Charlestown at the time. However, investigators accused him of absconding from parole supervision.

“Bennett has a lengthy criminal record that dates back nearly three decades,” an alert stated. “His convictions include but are not limited to escape, possession of controlled drugs, sales of controlled drugs, theft, and assault.”
An “escape” warning was issued on his alert status.

According to superior court records, Bennett’s felony criminal history dates back nearly two decades.
In November 2004, he was accused of acts prohibited in Sullivan County. About six months later, he pleaded guilty to the single count.
Bennett was involved in another acts prohibited case in Sullivan County in February 2006 but he was not charged until December 2009. He pleaded guilty again in July 2010.
In Claremont in September 2011, he was involved in a robbery. About five weeks later, he was arrested on four counts. In August 2012, he pleaded guilty to a single count and was sentenced to prison for three and a half and seven years.
In August 2020, he was involved in a theft case and accused of robbery. He was arrested on four felony counts 13 months later. Thirteen months after that, in October 2022, he pleaded guilty to two felony theft charges. He was sentenced to three years in prison with a one year mandatory minimum and 96 days time served. A second sentence, four years, with two years mandatory minimum, was suspended for 10 years.
In October 2022, documents in his robbery case were requested by an investigative authority.
Bennett was approved for work release in June 2023.
