LOOKING FOR PAST WCC SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

As part of the Woman’s Club of Concord’s mission to empower women, we award the Woman’s Club of Concord Annual $1000 Scholarship to Concord Area high school senior girls who shows promise.  We have been doing this since the early 1900's and we would love to reconnect with some if not all our WCC Scholarship Winners.

We have started a Scholarship Tea which present and past Winners attend along with our Scholarship Chairs and other strong empowering women and members of our club and community.

If you are a past winner or know of someone who is please email our Scholarship Co-Chairs: Elaine Bello and Carole Palmer (Zumbrunnen) at Scholarship@WomansClubofConcord.org

Through GFWC dues WCC contributes to General Federation of Women’s Clubs – GFWC - New Hampshire Scholarship, and Mrs. Dexter Otis Arnold Scholarship

The Woman's Club of Concord Annual $1,000 Scholarship is awarded to a college-bound, highly motivated and directed senior girl who is selected through an application process.

Interested applicants may download the application form from this site. Information can also be obtained from the guidance department at the three Concord Area public high schools: Concord, Bow and Merrimack Valley.

April 1st is the deadline for WCC scholarship applications to be submitted to the Woman's Club of Concord. The Woman's Club of Concord Scholarship Committee then reviews the applications and evaluates each applicant.

The finalists are selected to be interviewed. Interviews are scheduled for after mid-April at Chamberlin House, 44 Pleasant Street, Concord NH.

Of particular interest to the Scholarship Committee are the areas of:
Academic Achievement
Community Service/Involvement
Financial Need
Interest in Women's Issues
Leadership

The Woman’s Club of Concord Annual $1000 Scholarship final recipients are chosen based on the interview results and will be selected by May 1st.  A Scholarship Certificate is presented at the Woman’s Club of Concord Annual Meeting where they meet members of the club. The Woman's Club of Concord will notify the recipient's high school and send a press release to the Concord Monitor, The Concord Patch and various other media outlets.

After completing her fall semester, the recipient briefs the Woman’s Club of Concord Scholarship Committee on her accomplishments for the term and includes a copy of her transcript. Once this report has been received and evaluated, the Woman's Club of Concord sends $1,000 directly to the
recipient's school, to be applied to her second-semester tuition.

Please send inquiries for more information about applying for the Woman's Club of Concord Annual $1000 Scholarship to our Co-Chairs Elaine Bello & Carole Palmer (Zumbrunnen): Scholarship@WomansClubofConcord.org
