LOUDON, NH — Loudon police are investigating a shooting on School Street on Thursday.

Just before 7 p.m., Loudon fire and rescue teams and police were sent to a home on School Street between Sunset Drive and Rainbow Drive, just across the Concord town line, near Hothole Pond, for a report of a shooting.

While police and EMTs were heading to the house, county dispatch said the victim was in a vehicle and driving to police headquarters for treatment. The victim was shot in the chest, and there was blood on the ground, dispatch said.

The county dispatcher later reported the victim arriving at the Loudon Fire Department headquarters. EMTs treated him and took him to Concord Hospital. An officer went to the hospital to check in on the victim.

Dispatch warned officers heading to the home that there appeared to be an altercation or dispute — with one party angry the other gave the victim a towel to put pressure on the wound in an effort to stop the bleeding.

A few minutes later, police were at the house and said they had the scene secured, including the firearm, and identifying possible parties involved.
