Loudon Woman Arrested for Second-Degree Assault

Concord Police: Kaytelin Glidden allegedly assaulted a family member; was also arrested on driving while intoxicated charges earlier this month.

A woman is facing both assault and driving charges after two separate incidents this month in Concord, according to reports.

Kaytelin R. Glidden, 22, of Loudon, was arrested at 11:43 a.m. on July 16, and charged with felony second-degree assault (personal weapons), simple assault (personal weapons), and criminal mischief (vandalism).

According to an affidavit, Concord Police and Fire and Rescue teams were sent to Same Day Computer on Loudon Road for a report of a woman who was injured. The woman alleged that Glidden, her niece, “punched her in the face, ripped out her hair, and choked her,” according to the report.

The woman stated that she was talking and drinking with her sister in Loudon and everything was fine until she needed a ride back to Concord. The woman stated her sister gave her a ride home and while on Route 106, Glidden, who was in the back seat of the car, allegedly attacked her. The woman alleged that Glidden dug her nails into the skin of her neck, choked, her, and she had difficulty breathing. The woman alleged that her sister didn’t help but later, pulled over at the Rowley Insurance Agency on Loudon Road, because she was reportedly afraid she was going to get arrested for drunk driving, according to the report.

“(The victim) stated as (her sister) was slowing down, she jumped from the moving car,” the report stated, while Glidden “pulled hair out of her head.”

After the car stopped, Glidden allegedly got out of the vehicle and tackled her to the ground behind a Burns Avenue building. The woman began yelling for help. The sister allegedly told Glidden to jump into the car so they could leave and they both drove off. The woman then called police.

As officers arrived, the victim walked them through the incident. An officer reported seeing the woman’s belongings all over the side of the road.

“I observed a large clump of black hair on the ground,” the officer reported, matching the victim's hair.

The woman had a fat lip, scratch marks on her neck, and marks on her legs, according to the report.

A witness who lived on Burns Avenue reportedly hear the incident and gave a statement to police.

Concord Police went with Loudon Police to arrest Glidden but were unable to find her. The next morning, she was arrested at the Red Roof Inn on Route 106. She was held on $5,000 cash bail and was arraigned on July 17.

Alleged drunk driving incident

Two weeks before, Glidden was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, driver’s license prohibitions, and driving after revocation or suspension.

According to an arrest report, at 10 p.m. on July 2, while running radar on Sheep Davis Road across from Autumn Drive, an officer observed two vehicles clocked driving at 47 mph and 51 mph in a 40 zone, with the second vehicle being clocked again at 55 mph.

The second vehicle, a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta, the officer alleged, appeared to travel over the double yellow line to try and pass the first vehicle.

The officer followed the vehicles and observed that the Jetta hadn’t passed the first vehicle but was crossing over the fog line into the breakdown lane, in an attempt to pass the first vehicle.

The officer pulled the Jetta over and spoke to the driver, Glidden.

Glidden, the officer alleged, spoke “softly” and was “slurring” her words. The officer leaned in closer to hear Glidden speak and alleged that there was a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle.” Her eyes were glazed, the officer alleged.

Glidden reportedly said she was going to her mother’s house to pick up her child.

Another officer appeared at the scene while Glidden agreed to a field sobriety test. She was later arrested. Glidden was released on $20,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on July 15.
