Man Allegedly Beats, Strangles Family Member: Dunbarton Police
Dwayne Demers was arrested on Sunday on second-degree and domestic violence assault charges after an argument.

DUNBARTON, NH — A local man was arraigned in superior court today after being arrested for allegedly assaulting a family member. Dwayne Demers, 46, of Mansion Road in Dunbarton, was arrested on March 18, 2018, for second-degree assault, a felony, as well as domestic violence-assault. Yesterday afternoon, according to a police post on Facebook, officers were sent to an address in town after a man reportedly attacks a family member.

The attack reportedly occurred after a verbal argument. Demers allegedly punched the man “several times” and attempted to forcefully removed him from a vehicle.

“The victim sustained injuries to his neck and face,” the report noted.
Demers was held on $5,000 cash bail and transported to the Merrimack County House of Corrections. He was arraigned today and released on personal recognizance bail.

“Demers is ordered to have no contact with the victim,” the report alleged.
