Man Allegedly Threatens to Kill Police Officer

Concord Police: Threat came after simple assault arrest on Loudon Road.

A local man was arrested and arraigned last month after allegedly assaulting his brother and threatening a police officer. Bulambo Dunia, 26, of Concord, was arrested at 4 p.m. on March 14, and charged with simple assault (personal weapons), resisting arrest or detention, and criminal threatening (intimidation, etc.). According to an arrest report and court affidavit, officers were sent to Loudon Road for a report of a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, police reported hearing a man, later identified as Dunia, screaming inside the apartment while there were men’s clothes strewn all over the hallway of the apartment building.

The reporting officer knocked on the door and another man, Dunia’s brother, requested the police come inside but they couldn’t because Dunia was allegedly sitting on the floor in front of the door inside the apartment. They later made their way into the apartment.

“Bulambo was highly intoxicated,” the officer alleged, describing papers thrown all over the floor of the apartment. “He was holding a wallet in his hand.”

The brother said on this particular afternoon, he had been sleeping, since he worked at night, and Dunia reportedly came home drunk and “started yelling and throwing things around.” The brother tried to pull a blanket over his head and Dunia came over and allegedly pulled the blanket off him and grabbed his arm.

Dunia, however, denied that anything happened, allegedly stating that he was not in the apartment at the time of the incident.

He was, however, arrested.

While escorting him to a cruiser, Dunia allegedly began yelling at his brother and allegedly “had several drastic mood swings” during the officer’s contact with him but he was later “compliant and calm” at the stationhouse.

But when trying to take a booking photo of him, Dunia allegedly refused to stand upright or look into the camera. The officer told him to go back into the holding cell and went to escort him there but Dunia allegedly pulled away from the officer and fought with the officer as he tried to contain him.

Dunia was later taken down to the floor and cuffed by the officer, a sergeant, and a detective.

Since he refused to comply he was taken to the Merrimack County House of Corrections.

During transport to jail, while stopped on Centre Street between Green and North State streets, Dunia allegedly told the officer, “I’m going to kill you.”

The officer asked, “What did you say to me?”

Dunia allegedly replied, “I’m going to get a pistola and kill you.”

Dunia was arraigned on March 17.
