At just after 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 6, 2017, Bow Police were sent to Dicandra Drive for a report of a domestic disturbance. The reporting officers arrived at the scene and separately spoke with Walsh and a woman who was locked inside of a bedroom, according to an affidavit. The woman was “visibly upset and scared,” the reporting officer stated, and alleged that Walsh, her fiancée, had come home after the Super Bowl “heavily intoxicated and angry” but she was “unclear why he was angry but he was yelling and slamming doors” in their apartment.

While using the upstairs bathroom, Walsh allegedly “forced his way inside the door and was screaming obscenities at her,” the reporting officer alleged.
The victim left the bathroom and Walsh allegedly “placed both his hands around her neck and attempted to push her down a flight of stairs.” She reportedly broke free and he fell backwards down the stairs. The victim and her son locked themselves in a room and called police. The reporting officer noted that the bathroom was directly at the top of the stairs.

When questioning Walsh, he allegedly denied assaulting the woman but “refused to speak about the details of the incident,” according to the affidavit.
“I observed that David was heavily intoxicated and could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath,” the reporting officer alleged.
Walsh was placed under arrest and walked out of the apartment but just before exiting, allegedly became angry and started screaming obscenities.
“He denied using physical force on (the victim),” the officer alleged. “I asked David politely to calm down and lower his voice many times. He continued to yell in the front doorway.”
While walking to the cruiser, he “violently pulled away” from the officer’s grasp, allegedly stating that he didn’t want to be touch, according to the affidavit. He allegedly did this twice and the second time, the officer reportedly lost his footing on a cement step. The reporting officer alleged that he told Walsh twice to stop but he allegedly pulled away again, as if to make a break for it, so the officer took him to the ground, telling him to calm down.
Walsh was transported to the Merrimack County House of Corrections due to his alleged “extreme level of intoxication” and refused bail later, according to the affidavit.
