Man Arrested on Assault, Threatening Charges in Dunbarton

Police: Carlos Bermeo chased victim, punched holes in a wall; was arrested after traffic stop for pulling in front of a cruiser.

DUNBARTON, NH - A man was arrested last night for allegedly threatening and assaulting a resident in Dunbarton, according to police.

Carlos Bermeo, 37, of Nashua, was arrested on Jan. 17, 2016, and charged with domestic violence-assault, criminal threatening, criminal mischief, and failure to yield.

An officer on patrol in the area of Mansion Road and Stinson Drive at just after 6 p.m. reported a vehicle abruptly pulling in front of the officer from Stinson. The action forced the officer to apply the brakes of his cruiser to avoid a collision, according to a report.

The officer pulled the vehicle over and spoke with the driver, Bermeo, who was allegedly involved in a domestic disturbance nearby earlier in the day, according to Sgt. Chris Remillard of the Dunbarton Police Department.

“Bermeo is alleged to have pushed, threatened and chased the victim, as well as punched two holes in a wall,” Remillard noted.

After speaking with Bermeo and a follow up investigation at the home, he was arrested on numerous charges.

Bermeo was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Tuesday. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim, according to Remillard.
