Man Arrested In Concord After Walking Half Naked Into North Main Street Traffic
Watch: A man, screaming into a cell about a court case, walked into traffic on Friday. He was arrested and taken to the county jail later.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating a disorderly conduct incident that led to a man being arrested on North Main Street on Friday.
Just before noon, a man was seen pacing and screaming into a cell phone in the parking area between the Merrimack County Superior Court and the Crutchfield Building at 15 Pitman St. The man was wearing a Santa hat. The man, who appeared to be making points to another person on the other end of the cell phone, said he was railroaded by a case in court.
The man screamed, I’m making a fool of myself in the middle of the street.

The man continued pacing into the TD Bank parking lot, Pitman Street, and then, walked toward North Main Street. While on North Main Street, the man threw his cell phone into the bank parking lot, threw a bag of belongings onto the sidewalk, and began to disrobe. The man then crossed North Main Street and began pacing on the east side of the street.
After a few minutes, he walked into the northbound side of the street and dropped to the ground, stopping traffic.

Lenny O’Keefe, a retired police officer and former training coordinator for the Merrimack County Jail, who now helps police with interventions with Liberty, the city’s comfort dog, pulled up in the community services cruiser and blocked vehicles from the area where the man was in the street. The man then got up, walked toward the cruiser, and crawled backward underneath it. O’Keefe exited the SUV and began speaking with the man before police arrived and took him into custody.
After being taken to Concord Hospital, he refused treatment and was transported to the county jail.
