Man Arrested Twice in One Week
Concord Police allege that Amegnra destroyed furniture one night and drove drunk the next.

A Concord man is facing multiple charges after alleged incidents last month within three days of each other.
Momkpokpo Amegnra, 20, of Concord, was arrested at 5:05 p.m. on Jan. 16, and charged with criminal mischief (vandalism) and resisting arrest or detention. At 2:35 a.m. on Jan. 19, he was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated and default or breach of bail conditions.
In the first incident, according to a Concord Police arrest report, officers were called to Old Suncook Road for a domestic disturbance between a mother and son. When the reporting officer arrived, he allegedly “heard a lot of yelling and screaming coming from the inside.”

Amegnra reportedly answered the door and allegedly continued yelling at the woman, who was his mother.
“Momkpokpo was so out of control that he just would not stop yelling and kept telling me that he was not scared of me,” the officer reported.

The officer later reportedly led him out of the apartment in order to get him to calm down. During the course of the argument, the officer discovered that Amegnra allegedly destroyed a bookshelf, which had a stereo on it, and he threatened to smash a television. The officer allegedly attempted to arrest Amegnra but he “pulled his arm away from me and kept asking why he needed to turn around.” He continued to allegedly resist arrest and another officer assisted in cuffing Amegnra.
According to the report, Amegnra’s mother alleged that he brought a friend over without asking permission the night before. The two were drinking, she said. An argument ensued over whether or not the friend would be allowed to stay a few more days, after the mother said the friend would not be allowed in the apartment, the officer wrote.
Amegnra was later released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and has a court date on Feb. 28.
Three days later, while on foot patrol near Springfield Street, an officer reportedly noticed a 2000 Toyota Corolla turn onto Springfield from Conant Street, at an accelerated speed. The officer stated that saw the Corolla swerve in and out of lanes and then crash into a snow bank.
“The vehicle was pointed upward at an incline due to the higher snow level,” the officer wrote.
The officer turned on his flashlight and the driver, later identified as Amegnra, then reversed off the snow bank. The officer demanded that Amegnra stop, which he did. Amegnra then allegedly grabbed some loose dollar bills on the passenger seat “and was handing them out the window” while “he said something I could not understand,” the officer wrote.
The officer alleged that Amegnra’s eyes were bloodshot and glassy and he slurred some of his words as he spoke. The officer alleged smelling alcohol emanating from Amegnra but he denied drinking.
A field sobriety test was issued and Amegnra was later arrested.
Amegnra was out on bail due to the previous charges of criminal mischief on Jan. 16, and a requirement of the bail was not to use any alcohol, so a breach charge was added to the charge. Amegnra was also given a summons for driving upon roads.
He was released on $3,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Feb. 4.
